This side-splitting comedy centers on a late state senator who dies in a ridiculous gun accident turning him into a national hero. The local political party leaders are strenuously looking for someone to fill his senate seat. His ex-wife is looking for a bugler to play at his funeral. A host of other zany characters are looking for love, votes and the right casket in this madcap farce about love, politics and things not being what they seem to be.
Edna – Late Ed’s ex-wife, practical, smart, 30’s – 50’s
Buttons- Ed’s fiancée, bubbly, semi-erotic dancer, 20’s – 40’s
Margo- Her husband is in Parlor C, pill popping widow, 30’s -60’s
Herb – A chairman in search of a candidate, conniving, 40’s – 70’s
Wally – The Governor’s son who does nothing, 20’s – 30’s
Fred – The Governor – a true politician who knows Buttons, 40’s – 70’s
Harry – Late Ed’s brother, a rich man who feels an obligation to the system that feeds him, 40’s – 60’s
