Romeo and Juliet

ALL VOLUNTEER, NON-EQUITY, NON-PAYING COMMUNITY THEATER ROLES

A TIMELESS TALE OF STAR-CROSSED LOVERS

It’s a story so well-known it scarcely needs an introduction, and it will be The Front Porch Players’ first production of any Shakespeare play. We are so excited to present ROMEO AND JULIET, A New Look August 11-13 and 18-20, 2023. “A New Look” doesn’t mean we’re re-writing the Bard’s incomparable words, but that we’re presenting the play in a modern setting and hoping to bring Shakespeare’s storied and timeless relevance to both folks who’ve never seen a Shakespeare production and existing Shakespeare lovers. Theatre and Shakespeare lovers have said, “This is a play that ennobles and takes seriously the feelings of teenagers.” Indeed. It also tackles the dangers of tribalism, uninvolved parenting, and the dangers of lost trust.

Announcing the cast of ROMEO AND JULIET. Thanks so much to everyone who auditioned.
